About Us

Valley Search and Rescue (VSAR) is a highly trained voluntary organization that provides a unique and essential service for the citizens of Kings County. It is the only organization equipped to carry out searches for lost and missing persons in remote, rugged, and inhospitable back-country, and is the only organization authorized and trained to assist the RCMP in evidence searches in Kings County. We have over 100 members who are active in one capacity or another to meet our needs. We have members trained in Search Management, Wilderness Survival, Map and Compass, 1st Aid, 1st Responder, Amateur Radio, Rock Climbing and numerous other areas needed to perform rescues in Kings County and beyond including metal-detecting.

We provide our Search and Rescue services free to the citizens of Kings County and to the surrounding Counties when they require our assistance.
